Medicines do not have the same effect on all patients. Because many factors affect drug response, physicians must select a drug that is appropriate for each individual and carefully adjust the dose. What many do not know and therefore often not considered in drug therapy: variants of DNA can lead to unwanted or insufficient drug effects (ADR).
